Counterfeit drugs gang jailed: Trio planned to produce fake impotence tablets worth £1.6 million

A gang who planned to make half a million counterfeit tablets from a residential flat in central London has been jailed at the Old Bailey today. The sentences follow a City of London Police investigation into a plan to produce counterfeit medicines with a street value of £1.6 million. Police raided the flat in July 2010, which appeared to have been equipped to produce the Prescription Only Medicine tadalafil, known in the UK as Cialis and used by doctors to treat erectile dysfunction (ED).
