Mexico, telephone scam to U.S.

Police all along the border between Texas and Mexico say this holiday season they’re seeing a spike in scam phone calls from Mexico. The scam involves residents on the U.S. side of the border getting a call from someone claiming to be an extended family member in Mexico but without giving a name. By using vague language, the caller gets the victim to drop the name of a family member, who the scammer then claims to be. Read Article

Scotland, conman uses ID of dead prisoner
