Alexandru L. of Romanian nationality was arrested while trying to bring two citizens of Moldova into Romania with fake Romanian ID’s. He will face human trafficking charges. Romanian Identification documents give citizens of Moldova access to Western Europe therefore they are highly valued. Read Article

Mihai Munteanu was arrested in Braila on April 04, 2012 for helping 14 persons obtain bank loans of 217,889 RON total value using fake identification documents. Investigations are still on-going. Read Article

Adrian Toma, secretary chief of the Census Register, died of heart attack when he heard his subordinates are under investigation for falsifying Romanian passports to citizens of Republic of Moldova. About 50 officials are investigated for being involved in this scam. The passports were supposed to give these citizens access to Western Europe. Read Article
