Philippines: High concerns over the use of counterfeit pesticides on Vietnamese rice

As reported by Abs-cbnnews.com a lawyer engaged in reducing counterfeit pesticides worldwide has warned Filipinos that they may suffer from health problems if they eat rice from Vietnam and Thailand, since illegal pesticides are used in rice farms in these countries. The warning came days after the Vietnam Food Association said Hanoi will export 187,000 tons of 25-percent broken rice (fractured rice grains) to the Philippines between April and June. As reported by Manilatimes.net operatives of the Pasay City police on Thursday arrested the wife of investment scam leader Jachob “Coco” Rasuman in an operation in Quezon City. According to Pasay City Police Chief Senior Supt. Rodolfo Llorca, Princess Tomawis Rasuman, 32, was nabbed in a residence at Vista Real Executive Village along Commonwealth Ave. in Quezon City at around 1:30 a.m. yesterday. “We had a tip from our informant so we sent a team there to identify her,” Llorca said.
